Shooting for fourth place

THE battle for Airlie Darts’ fourth place is well and truely on as Jamie Maher dodged a potential banana skin with a cagey 6/3 win, and a nice 115 checkout, over a very solid Garry Robbie. Jamie’s edged Rooster Coutts out of 4th place for now, but he’s played a game more than both his rivals for fourth with both Rooster and Andy Peel not in action this week.

The two top boys Jamie Woods and Gene Birse went toe to toe, and the stats speak for themselves. 22 x 100s in that match, as well as 2 x 140s apiece and 1 x 180s apiece. Woodsy won 6/3. Ross Gallichan kept his hopes of finals alive with a 6/3 win over Seamus Rose, but Jason Rockstroh trumped that on the day with a 6/0 bonus point win over Nathan O’Hara, and consolidated eighth place.

Finally, Joe Wilson kept his impressive form going with a 6/1 win over Dick O’Hara. With only three rounds left before finals, there’s still a lot to play for. The Premier League is proudly sponsored by Mika Airlie Beach and Whitsunday Tattooing Airlie Beach.
