IT WAS a huge weekend for Palmyra Drag Racing Club with the “Keep the Speed off the Streets Test and Tune” and “PDRC Club Champs Round Four”.

President of Palmyra Dragway Glen Cunningham said plenty of people came to test out their cars, race against mates and have a play on the track with their vehicles.

“We had 84 race cars showing up,” Glen said. “We had people from as far north as Cairns and as far south as Gladstone, as well as around the Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac region.

"A lot of the upgrades we have made to the track really attracted a large amount of attention,” he said. Plenty of spectators showed up for the events and more events are expected in the coming months.

“We have some big events coming up with October being a big month for us. (We have) Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars coming up from Sydney which we will have ten of in Mackay,” Glen said.

“At the end of October we are holding the Australian championships.”
