Dance baton twirlers all smiles

INTERNATIONAL Dance Affair Baton Twirlers were all smiles after a very successful competition and twirling camp in Yeppoon recently.


Two guest Twirl coaches travelled from New South Wales to facilitate the workshops in dance, strut and baton work.

Both Anastassia Tsaloukas and Nicole Arsetos were very impressed with the enthusiasm and standard of technique of the Twirlers for their varying ability levels.

A gymnastic workshop was also conducted by Rockhampton coach Jacinta Hinton.

Results of the competition were as follows: Petite Strut - 1st Sienna Skaines, 2nd Abby Shute.

Juvenile Beginner Strut - 1st Vi- enna Thomson, 3rd Ella Brown- ing.

Junior Beginner Strut - 3rd Xzavier Smith.

Junior Intermediate Strut - 1st Madeline Taylor, 2nd Lara Tay- lor, 3rd Turill Taylor.

Junior Ad- vanced Strut - 1st Yarra Taylor.

Junior Intermediate Solo - 1st Lara Taylor.

Junior Intermediate Artistic Twirl - 1st Yarra Taylor.

Juvenile Beginner Two Baton - 1st Vienna Thomson.

Junior Beginner Two Baton - 1st Turill Taylor, 2nd Xzavier Smith.

Junior Pairs - 1st Yarra Taylor & Lara Taylor.

Juvenile Dancetwirl - 1st Vienna Thomson.

Junior Dancetwirl - 1st Lara Tay- lor, 2nd Yarra Taylor.

International Dance Affair Twirlers are now training for Twirltastic, a Baton Twirling competition hosted by International Dance Affair.

This is to be held at North Mackay State High School Hall on Saturday July 31 and the Twirl Queensland State Championship to be held at Caloundra Stadium and the Twirl Queensland State Championship to be held at Caloundra Stadium on September 25 and 26.
