Seaside community life is calling

So you are attracted to the country life?

Seaforth Post Office Store
Members of staff at the busy Seaforth General Store, Post Office, Newsagency and Takeaway, including Debbie Roberts and Dianne Finch, are kept busy serving locals through the week and a steady flow of visitors at the weekends and other imes.

Well, you do not get any more embedded in a local community than by running a town’s general store.

And that has certainly been the case for John and Carolyn O’Hara at the Seaforth Post Office, Store, Takeaway and Newsagency.

But the time has come to move on, and the business is on the market for sale.

Not that anything will change in the meantime, in fact the store and post office was quite a busy location even midweek and becomes more so over the weekend as beachgoers and fishermen flock to the area for recreation.

The Sunday markets and the council’s plans for major improvements along the foreshore, under an approved master plan set for its first stage, can only enhance the store’s prospects to new owners.

According to marketing material, the business would best suit an owner-operator, a young family or an active retiree couple interested to pursue a self-sustained and relaxed seaside Queensland lifestyle.

The building is inclusive of an attached two-bedroom residence with an extra facility used as a one-bedroom flat.

Seaforth Post Office Store and Newsagency is a one stop shop that has been operating in the beautiful seaside town of Seaforth for over 65 years.

It is a combination of a General Store, Fuel, Post Office and Newsagency.

The business carries a good range of everyday items, dry goods, fresh seasonal vegetables, fresh and frozen meats, milk & bread, cigarettes, ice, newspapers, postcards, maps, clothing, Golden Casket Scratchies, fishing equipment and bottled gas refills.

Takeaway food including burgers, cooked chooks, sandwiches, pizza and fish ‘n’ chips.

The business also sells S3 Pharmacist licensed products such as ‘pharmacy only’ lines.

It is priced to sell at $850,000 plus SAV and is being offered through Advanced Business Marketing.
