Design efforts priortised for riverside precinct
MACKAY Regional Council is currently prioritising design efforts on the Riverside Precinct, with design for the area between Paxton’s and the Fish Market underway to support construction in 2021.
Currently, the demolition works for the former Seafresh shed at 6 River Street are progressing, but have experienced some delays.
Council said the contractor is still working through assessing the pylons and removing the floor.
The landscaping and urban design package for the public realm upgrades is underway and is expected to be finalised by March.
Recycled timber from the 6 River Street building is being salvaged and assessed for incorporation into the design.
A funding application for this package of work is currently being compiled for the Federal Government Building Better Regions Fund Round Five
