Workplace incident at Carmila
A MALE in his 20’s was involved in a workplace incident at 3pm on July 3 with a train at the end of Palms Road at Carmila.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the incident was near the end of a rail way road, where the male was working at the end of the wagon.
The loco driver called 000 when his co-worker’s torso was crushed between the two unlinked wagons loaded with cane.
Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man was airlifted to Mackay
Base Hospital in a stable condition.
The patient suffered serious crush injuries to his upper left torso including broken ribs and lung complications and was administered pain relief by Queensland Ambulance officers first on scene.
