Truck veers off Bakers Creek bridge
Around 5.20am on Sunday, January 24, a 33-year-old Forest Lake man was driving a truck along Bakers Creek.
The truck-trailer travelled 30m along the railing at the bridge North-bound before it tipped off into the creek and caused damage to the railing.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the truck was confirmed to be carrying goods such as paint, fertiliser, feed and other chemicals.
The spokesman said roads were closed and investigations were ongoing as to what happened.
Police acknowledged the help of bystanders and will remove truck from the Creek as part of investigations.
Police have put out an appeal for information or dash cam footage about the crash. A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics attended the scene and transported the patient to the hospital with head and leg injuries.
The 33-year-old truck driver was confirmed by a Queensland Health spokeswoman to be in a stable condition at the Mackay Base Hospital.
