Traffic incident, Airlie Beach
ON THE evening of June 12, officers from the Whitsunday Police Station were conducting patrols of the Cannonvale area when they observed a white Toyota Corolla had travelled up the curb of the roundabout at the intersection of Shute Harbour Road and Pandanus Drive.
Police conducted inquiries in relation to the incident and located the female driver at a nearby residence.
Police subjected the woman to a breath test.
The woman returned a positive reading and was transported to the Whitsunday Police Station where she provided a breath test with a reading of 0.193 BAC.
The woman’s drivers licence was suspended and is due to appear in the Proserpine Magistrates Court on June 28.
Police would like to remind the public of the Fatal Five – speeding, drink/drug driving, fatigue, seat belt use and driver distraction/inattention.
If you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, do not get behind the wheel.
Fortunately in this instance no road users were hurt.
