On Tuesday, July 20, we released details of a home break in which lead to a car theft (link below).

We can advise that at about 8pm on July 21, the stolen car, a Holden Rodeo with registration number 163 WOA, was parked in cane fields on Maraju Yakapari Road, Foulden.

The car was deliberately set alight and has been consumed by flames, leading to the burning of approximately four acres of nearby sugar cane.

The fire was fully extinguished by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES).

Anyone who may have information about either the original break in and car theft, or the abandoning of the car in the cane field and being set alight, is encouraged to come forward.

We are grateful for the support received from the community with this matter to date.
