Search warrant leads to multiple charges at Dysart
TWO people have been charged with a number of offences as a result of a search warrant executed in Dysart on Monday, April 5.
On or around October 24, 2020, a number of property items including a CCTV camera was stolen from a Dysart business near the Golden Mile Road.
On or around April 1, the owner of the camera was automatically notified by email that the camera had been switched back on.
The video captured the alleged offender fiddling with the camera and it appeared he was attempting to connect/sync it with his phone.
Police quickly identified the person in the footage.
At approximately 3pm on April 5, Dysart Police and the Moranbah Criminal Investigation Branch executed a search warrant at a Queen Elizabeth Drive address in relation to suspected property offences.
As a result, a 24-year-old Dysart man was charged with stealing, possessing drug utensils and possessing a category M weapon namely a flick knife.
He was given bail to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court on May 5.
A 25-year-old Clontarf woman was also charged in relation to possessing a quantity of methylamphetamine that exceeded the schedule three but not schedule four amount, stealing and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act.
The woman was held in custody to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court on April 6.
