Road safety and Intrust Super Cup Match, Dysart

On Saturday, July 17, Dysart hosted a state rugby match as part of Queensland Country Week. Approximately 1,000 people turned out to watch the Mackay Cutters take on the Norths Devils. Local police were pleased with the behaviour of patrons at the event with no offences detected within the gates.

Approximately 1,000 people turned out to watch the Mackay Cutters take on the Norths Devils.

Local police were pleased with the behaviour of patrons at the event with no offences detected within the gates.

A number of traffic offences were detected from patrons heading to and from the event, including:

  • Three infringement notices for speeding offences
  • One infringement notice for an unregistered motor vehicle
  • One infringement notice for exceed carrying capacity after a passenger was located in the boot of a vehicle
  • One infringement notice for an expired licence
  • One infringement notice for contravening a requirement namely failing to attend a drug diversion.

Police are pleased that no drink drivers were detected from over 150 breath tests as well as no drug drivers from 11 drug tests.

It was good to see so many people choosing alternative options to getting home.
