Mackay mum brings help for parents navigating the journey of teen and tween girls

MACKAY mum and marketing guru Jody Lee Euler is helping Mackay mums navigate their way through parenting teens and tweens. The Redhotblue agency owner is bringing renowned social enterprise Girl Shaped Flames to town for a special event and Q&A later this month!

Cries for comprehensive parenting advice in regional Mackay have been answered, with Redhotblue Creative Agency, bringing Girl Shaped Flames’ signature “Raising Tween and Teen Girls in the 21st Century” event to the region for the first time. A recent influx in teen and tween mental health statistics proves that parents need the right advice now more than ever before.

But concerningly, statistics show that residents in outer regional, remote or very remote areas of Australia face more barriers to accessing key counselling and health care information and services than people living in major cities, with wait times for councillors or professional advice taking weeks or months, leaving many parents questioning their child’s well-being and wondering ‘what if it’s too late?’

Equipping parents with the vital skills and techniques needed to navigate the challenges their tween and teen daughters are facing in today’s fast-paced and technologically connected world is exactly what Brisbane-based social enterprise Girl Shaped Flames offers to thousands of parents around Australia, and now Mackay is no exception.

“While there are a lot of aspects of today’s landscape that scare us as parents, one of the key contributing factors to a young girl’s mental, emotional and physically wellbeing and safety is the connection with her family. Without open communication channels, mutual trust and respect, her support system and ability to manage the challenges she will face is significantly reduced.” Tanya, Founder of Girl Shaped Flames says.

“We’re intent on providing Mackay’s parents an understanding about their daughter’s behaviour, her motivators and neurological development that puts them in a position to support and grow her development rather than fighting through every step of the way.”

Redhotblue, was quick to recognise the growing need for parenting resources in regional Mackay and took it upon themselves to bring this extensive and unique offering to the region.

"As a Mum of 2 teenage daughters and a proud Mackay local, I know all too well how overlooked regional areas are when it comes to special needs and opportunities,” says Jody Lee Euler.

This is not the first time Director of Redhotblue, Jody has taken matters into her own hands when wanting to provide our community with leading presenters. In 2013 and 2014 Jody brought world renowned expert on Autism to Mackay and leading Author Andrew Griffiths to sell our audiences.

Through a two-hour interactive event, youth expert Tanya Meessmann and Neuroscientist and Counsellor Dr Diane Harner provide clear and relevant insights to the behaviour of tween and teenage girls through the application of neuroscience, psychology and real-world experience.

Specifically helpful for parents of 8-18 year old daughters who are struggling with arguments, decisions around safety, or maintaining their critical connection, “Raising Tween and Teen Daughters in the 21st Century” promises to kick start conversation and inspire change in the relationship between parents and their daughter.

Brought to Mackay by Redhotblue the “Raising Tween & Teen Daughters in the 21st Century” presentation and interactive Q&A is one not to be missed.
