At about 2.20am this morning (Tuesday, July 20) the resident of a home on Oak Street, Andergrove was woken by noises within their bedroom.

They observed a slim man of Aboriginal appearance wearing a light blue hoodie and similarly light coloured track pants, standing inside of the room.

The unknown intruder was immediately verbally challenged and as a result, he promptly ran out of the house and entered a car parked in the yard. This car was then stolen.

The stolen car is a white 2013 Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback with registration number 77 IAM.

The resident made checks throughout the home and learned that the intruder had gained access through screen and timber doors which may not have been secured.

Further checks revealed that a handbag, wallet and car keys had been taken from the lounge room of the home.

The unknown intruder had been in the process of searching the bedroom when the resident was disturbed.

Anyone who may have information about the current location of the stolen Mitsubishi or the offence itself is encouraged to contact police as soon as possible.

If you witness any suspicious activity – at any time of the day – please report the matter as quickly as possible.
