MACKAY’s annual Catholic Debutante Ball was a scene of Bridgeton-like fabulousness, with belles and their partners being presented to society with the usual pomp and style.

Demure, blushing debs donned their stunning white finery on May 22, shaking off the confines of COVID after last year’s event was cancelled on account of the pandemic.

Through the Oxford Waltz, Gypsy Tap, Canberra Two Step, St Bernard’s Waltz, Barn Dance and Pride of Erin, the couples were resplendent as they made memories, the likes of which were being stirred among the generations of proud onlookers.

The event was held at North Mackay Bowl’s Club.
