Bowen Swimming pool amenities to be upgraded
THE WHITSUNDAY Regional Council upgrading the public amenities block at the Bowen Swimming Pool with funding from the State Government’s Works for Queensland program.
The new amenities block will greatly improve access for those with mobility issues or specific needs, benefiting all residents and visitors to the region.
Due to the significant nature of the construction works, the Bowen Pool will be closed to the public during this time.
The closure will be in place next week from Monda, June 21 and the works are expected to take at least two months to complete, weather permitting.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused to regular pool users, but has put the community's safety as a top priority.
The winter period was chosen for construction to reduce the impact on the community as much as possible.
Council thanks Swimmers for their patience and understanding.
Upgrades are also planned for the Collinsville and Proserpine Swimming Pools under the Works for Queensland funding.
