Appeal for public assistance with alleged assault, Mackay City

MACKAY Police are appealing for assistance from the community regarding an alleged assault which happened around 8.50pm on Thursday, June 3 on River Street (between Brisbane Street and Sydney Street) in Mackay City.

A man was walking in the Bluewater Quay area on River Street, passing a group of five people when he was approached by two of them.

Both allegedly attempted to tackle the man to the ground unsuccessfully, before punching him about five times to his head. They both then left the area on foot.

Both of the unknown men are described as being of muscular build, about 180 centimetres tall and wearing white singlets.

Anyone who witnessed the alleged incident or who may have information in relation to it are encouraged to contact police as soon as possible.
