Spills, skills and fishing thrills
THERE is nothing better than having fun outdoors.Brent Stephenson, through his business Mudskippa and the Combos4Kids initiative, is working to make sure even the most disadvantaged in our community have a chance to have fun in the sun!
Throughout the region, Brent is working to provide kids from less privileged backgrounds with fishing equipment, lessons on how to use it and most importantly mentorship. “What started out at Combos4Kids, has branched into our own brand and business – Mudskippa,” Brent said. “It is built around helping the local and wider community.
“We have been able to make this happen by providing this concept (skills, equipment & mentorship) to the wider community, and by also involving like-minded individuals to assist in these community skills nights/days and community fishing days.
Five percent of Mudskippa’s profits are directed back into the going back into Brent’s work with at-risk youth. He is also gladly accepting donations of second-hand fishing gear as well as smaller tackle items such as sinkers, hooks, swivels and other tackle.
