Coming up on February 27, the Tropical Queensland Power Boat Club maiden race day is open for members and everyone else to enjoy.

The family friendly event features some of the fastest inboard and outboard race boats in Queensland and has formula future juniors and V8 inboards to F1 Tunnel boats.

Anyone with a fast boat can join in the fun and soar away on the waves of the Kintchant Dam.

Those interested in running in the first event can get a drivers pack, which is emailed out to club members.

People who are not a member of the club can easily contact Commodore Michael Harvey on 0402 411 527.

The Australian Power Boat Association sanctioned event features sponsorship packages along with travel packages.

Visit the club's Facebook page for further information about the race day.

The Tropical Queensland Power Boat Club maiden race day starts at 10am on February 27 at Kintchant Dam and is free.
