The Whitsunday Voices Youth Literature Festival is the largest and only literature festival of its kind north of the Sunshine Coast – and it’s on this week, from Wednesday July 14, to Friday July 16, in Mackay.

Established in 2004, last year was the first year that the Festival was unable to run – due to COVID complications.

Now, with all the necessary planning and precautions in place, the Festival is set to return for an exceptional, high-energy celebration that promotes a lifelong love of learning, reading and storytelling!

This year we are anticipating a strong turnout, with students from 63 schools attending from the greater Mackay, Whitsunday and Isaac regions.

Thanks to the support of the Winchester Foundation, this includes students from many remote and regional areas who are otherwise unable to attend.

The Festival regularly attracts 5000+ students.
