Prepare yourself for the unknown! Expect the unexpected!

AN Unexpected Tour, the final production in Crossroad Arts UNCOVERED series invites you to be guided through a beachside location to uncover local stories that explore life’s unexpected twists and turns and the joy and grief these experiences can bring.

In collaboration with Crossroad Arts Artistic Director/CEO Alison Richardson, 5 local performers from diverse backgrounds have devised and created an original and unique performance for the upcoming festival.

Through projection, music and performance each storyteller will bring to life their personal ‘unexpected’ story creating an intimate, immersive and sensorial experience for audiences to enjoy.

“Ellie and I appreciate the opportunity Crossroad Arts has given us to creatively share our story relating to child gender diversity and trans-formation. We look forward to performing an artistic reflection of the experiences and challenges we have faced through this profound unexpected change in our life,” collaborator and performer Sacha said.

Crossroad Arts’ Artistic Director/ CEO, Alison Richardson says, “We are excited for audiences to immerse themselves in the final tour of our three year UNCOVERED series.

An Unexpected Tour features 5 unique and unexpected stories set against the backdrop of the beautiful Harbour beach and New Mulherin Park.

Tickets are limited each evening.

Be sure to book early as our last two major shows have sold out!”

An Unexpected Tour is a fringe event as part of the 2021 Mackay Festival of Arts program and is supported by the Gambling Benefit Community Fund, Arts Queensland, Australia Council for the Arts and Tim Fairfax Family Foundation.
