Mackay Kids Colour Ride to be a blast
THE Mackay Kids Colour Ride is a fun event put together for children wanting a blast this weekend.
The event was setup as younger children are unable to participate in River 2 Reef ride, which will be taking place at the same time.
The event will take place along the Bluewater Trail back to Caneland Park - this is an amazing activity for children aged between two to 13.
Registration is $6. All participants must be accompanied to the event by an adult.
All children must be checked-in before the ride starts at 9am.
The check in desk will be open from 8.15am at the entrance to Caneland Park. Children will be issued with a wrist band which must be worn throughout the ride.
coordinator Libby Robison says “Much
like the River
donations for the colour ride will be donated to three charities
being CQ rescue, sporting wheelies and real mates talk”.
“We started this in 2018. Of course, last year we didn’t do it due to Covid-19, so this will be the third year of the kids colour ride, but the river 2 reef has been going for the past 11 years” she said said.
“We really wanted to introduce an event for the kids a community event for the kids and its fun."
The event will have various distances suited to all age groups (up to 8km).
Parents are welcome to accompany younger children, marshals will be supervising along the trails, training wheels are more than welcome!
All participants must wear sunglasses! (or other eyewear / protection) During the ride
There will be multiple colours thrown.
The colour powder is made from non-toxic corn-starch that is water soluble.
