CQUni Music Theatre alum to relive the 'Golden Days' of music

CQUniversity Music Theatre alumnus Paul Tabone has returned to his home state of Queensland to launch a new tour. The Aussie Opera star came back to Australia earlier this year after COVID-19 brought an abrupt end to his time at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End.

The tenor announced his regional Queensland tour, in ‘Golden Days – Songs from the Movies & Musicals’ with shows scheduled at a variety of Queensland venues that currently include Ingham, Townsville, Mackay, Maleny and Bundaberg.

‘Golden Days’ is a musical journey of the best songs from movies to musicals throughout the decades.  You can expect a variety of songs from the ‘Golden Age’ of music, incorporating singers such as Mario Lanza and Perry Como and songs from Disney all the way to Ennio Morricone.

After performing for four years in London’s ‘The Phantom of the Opera ‘and having released his debut album ‘This Is Me’, Paul has been dubbed ‘Australia’s own Andrea Bocelli ‘. After reaching #1 in the Classical Music Charts in Australia, United Kingdom and United States of America.

Paul said his shows will also feature up and coming regional artists.

He's come a long way since growing up on a sugarcane farm near Ingham Queensland, with career highlights including sharing the stage with Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli in front of more than 20,000 spectators and 15 million TV viewers.
